CCBChimp default tags when saving to Mailchimp Audience Tags

We always add 'Campus name' and 'CCB Group name' by default. Here's why.

Updated this week

When you save to Mailchimp Audience tags, CCBChimp always adds 'Campus name' and 'CCB Group name' by default. Here's how it works...

On the Mailchimp side, you always see two tags: the exact tag name as it appears in Pushpay (in the example below, this is 'a 52projects campus') and the exact name of the campus (in the example below, this is 'All member of 52projects campus').

Exact Pushpay Tag Name
We tag each contact with the exact tag name as it appears in Pushpay.

  • Why? This guarantees that, no matter how many custom tags you create, you can instantly see which Pushpay tag drove their subscription.

Exact Pushpay Campus Name
If the feature is tied to a campus, we also tag with the exact campus name.

  • Why? For multi-campus organizations, this makes it easy to filter and report by location without relying on custom naming conventions.

Note: Features not tied to a campus (like Safe Search) only receive their feature tag—and no campus tag—since there’s no campus to track.

Benefits

  • Clarity at a Glance
Even if a user creates additional tags—or renames things—you’ll always see the core Pushpay tag and campus tag right in MailChimp.

  • Reliable Reporting
These tags align 1:1 with your Pushpay data sync, so your analytics and troubleshooting always reference the true source.

  • Unlimited Customization
You can add or ignore custom tags as you wish—our tags don’t interfere with functionality, they simply augment it.

Front-End Glitch

Occasionally you may see the auto-added tags appear unchecked in the UI. Rest assured, this is purely a display glitch—your tags are still applied behind the scenes and cannot actually be removed.
