FAQ: If you archive someone in Mailchimp and they are in CCB, will the API override the archive and reactivate their email address in Mailchimp?

Relationship between CCBChimp, Pushpay/CCB, and Mailchimp for archived people.

Updated this week

So if someone is archived in Mailchimp but still active in CCB, our API will attempt to mark them as "subscribed" again in Mailchimp during the sync process. In other words, CCB will override the archived status and re-enable their email address.

That said, if a person has opted out directly from Mailchimp, we will not attempt to re-subscribe or add them again.

If you want to permanently archive or suppress someone’s email, it’s best to make that change directly in Pushpay/CCB, since CCB is considered the master system we defer to during syncing.
