V2: Toolkit—Update the Mailchimp Email Unsubscribed Status from CCB/Pushpay (one-way)

Unsubscribe profiles in Mailchimp based on their CCB/Pushpay status.

Updated over a week ago

In this article, we are going to talk about part of the toolkit. The toolkit contains several series of code which we have written during our development. We wanted to make sure you have certain abilities.

The default is that if your subscriber unsubscribes from a Pushpay email, Pushpay will tag that user as ‘unsubscribed’ and you will not be able to send that person another email. When this option is enabled, someone opting out from a Pushpay email will also be opted out from a MC email. This ensures that the user doesn’t get any more communication from your church and makes everyone’s Inbox happy

TO GET TO THE TOOLKIT

From your dashboard, click on Settings (gear icon, gold arrow in image below). Choose Tools from the dropdown menu (pink box in image to the left).

The Tools page will open. The Update the Mailchimp Email Unsubscribed Status from CCB/Pushpay (one-way) tool is highlighted in the images below: pink box.

Update the Mailchimp Email Unsubscribed Status from CCB/Pushpay (one-way)

You have profiles who are flagged as 'Email Unsubscribed' in CCB/Pushpay. If you toggle on this option, those profiles will be marked as unsubscribed in Mailchimp if they are part of the synced pair. Please note that this is a one-way process. In other words, it does not synchronize unsubscribes from Mailchimp newsletters back to CCB.

For the same sync pair, having this option toggled on is basically the opposite of having the Don't Remove Unsub Mailchimp Email from CCB Group button toggled off.
